Dr Yvonne Sum
Dr Yvonne Sum transforms leaders on-the-go. Her gift is to develop executives on mission critical objectives without taking them out of the business. She lives with them, builds on what they know, and when they have achieved their mission impossible, they say “We have done it ourselves”. Yvonne has globally supported Directors, CEO’s and Senior Management discover their leadership style and provides them with clarity around their impact on others; along with skills to think strategically and lead change.
Dr Yvonne currently spearheads a team with cultural diversity, breadth of capability and depth of experience to support accelerated leadership development at all levels with a specific focus on high performing teams achieving exceptional results under extraordinary circumstances where initial or previous interventions have been far from satisfactory. We achieve this by embedding our team into the organisation, to live/learn/think with the high performing team, to co-create and co-facilitate sustainable learning on-the-go and innovations that stick through impactful to shifts – all that with minimum time out of B.A.U. operations. We have worked on similar projects recently in the Middle East, through their subsidiaries with global reach and also programs in Asia Pacific, Oceania, Europe Africa and the USA across diverse industries: aviation, luxury retail, consumer healthcare, FMCG, manufacturing, professional & financial services, IT, government.
Yvonne works with the best: from executing Harvard’s Blue Ocean Strategy in Asia Pacific from its Regional Centre in Kuala Lumpur, to leading London Business School’s leadership sessions co-developed with Professors Rob Goffee & Gareth Jones and BlessingWhite Inc. and presenting alongside Edward de Bono, Ram Charan, Tun Dr Mahathir, and Howard Gardner. She was awarded BlessingWhite Asia Pacific’s 2009 Consummate Facilitator and Client Development Award. Dr Sum is internationally certified in Neuro Linguistic Programming and Neuro Semantics (NLP-NS) through the Global NLP Trainers Alliance, and is accredited in Cert IV WAT, DiSC, Educational Kinesiology, EQi-2.0, Firo-B, LSI, MBTI I & II, Meta-Coaching and MLQ. Yvonne has made personal transformations through diverse tribes: from being an officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, to dental surgeon in entrepreneurial practice, media consultant and resident health expert on Australian national lifestyle television At Home with John Mangos, Midday Show, Today Show, Good Medicine and Second Opinion, feature writer for Dental Asia and The Sarawak Tribune, professional actor and presenter, and now expresses her passion as an international keynote speaker, leadership facilitator, transformational coach, business woman, wife and mother.
Her interventions help people recognise simple strengths that we may have taken for granted: we become more present as she challenges your beliefs, how we engage in learning partnerships and greater innovative possibilities. Leadership is transformed through intent and relationship – not position. She consistently provokes senior business leaders to ‘lose their minds and come to their senses’ by integrating their leadership lessons at home successfully back into the work tribe. Inspired leaders invariably leave a legacy of authenticity where extraordinary performance reign even in the chaos of change, where passion and spirit is fully re-ignited in tribes in business, communities and families.
Intentional Parenting: How to Get Results for Both You and Your Kids is her first solo book, and she has contributed to two other books: Emerging Trends in Professional Selling Vol 1, & Inspired Children. She is currently co-author on the soon-to-be released Emerging Trends in Leadership & Strategy discussing our need fro a global mindset: East AND West.
